For Youth Development
For Healthy Living
For Social Development

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they will carry with them throughout their lives. But the benefits are far greater than just physical health.

Wabash County Promise

The trajectory of every child’s life, regardless of situational limitations, should be determined by their potential.

Wabash County will support all youth, grades k-12, in the development of their college and career identity through: college & career discovery, academic readiness, and educational savings.

You could win when you support a child's college future!

In the fall of 2013, students in grades K-3 throughout Wabash County participated in the Wabash County Promise. The Promise provides students a variety of opportunities to dream about their futures. At school registration, they opened a college savings account. In their classrooms, students identified the champions in their lives and explored college and career options. Students shared their dreams with their champions and asked for their support. Champions have the opportunity to make a gift to the child’s college savings account and provide support and encouragement for their “Walk Into My Future” event. During the event, students experienced a college campus firsthand by visiting Manchester University and celebrated their dreams for college and beyond.

This year children in grades K-4 from across the county experienced "Walk Into My Future" on September 26.

Walk Into My Future

On the campus of Manchester University on September 27, we celebrated the efforts made by 1,700 K-3 grade students to dream and prepare for their future.

Debt is a widespread problem in America today, so common in fact that it's unusual to find someone who has not been in it at some time. The weight of financial stress impacts every aspect of a person's well-being, and nationally seven out of ten Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

"There's no question that workplace wellness is worth it. The only question is whether you're going to do it today or tomorrow. If you keep saying you're going to do it tomorrow, you'll never do it." -Warren Buffet, Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway
