Delay the Disease - The #1 Exercise Program That Fights Parkinson’s

OhioHealth Delay the Disease™ is an evidence-based fitness program designed to optimize physical function and help delay the progression of symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease. This wellness program is an important part of OhioHealth’s care continuum of neurologists and expert therapists working together to address the impairments associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Fitness plans are adapted to all levels of the disease. Symptom-specific exercises target:

  • Altered balance
  • Bradykinesia (slowing of all movements)
  • Depression
  • Diminished voice volume
  • Freezing
  • Masked facial expressions
  • Rigidity (stiffness)
  • Stooped posture
  • Walking/gait
