Promise Indiana Wabash County 

The Promise Indiana Wabash County (PIWC) is administered by the Wabash County YMCA (YMCA), seeks to provide every K-3 student attending school in Wabash County the opportunity to pursue educational dreams through savings, college and career discovery in the classroom, and on-campus experiences. K-3 students are eligible to enroll and participate in PIWC if they attend:

  • Wabash City Schools
  • Manchester Community Schools
  • MSD of Wabash County
  • St. Bernard Catholic School
(Because processes rely heavily on school enrollment records, home schooled students are not be eligible to participate.)

HOW TO ENROLL YOUR CHILD INTO THE PROGRAM?
1. Open a CollegeChoice 529 Plan for your child.
      The Wabash County YMCA deposits $25 into your child's account... just by signing up!
2. OPTION - Parent/Guardian deposits money into the account
3. The student can earn FREE money into their account during "Champions Period"
      (Sept. 20 - Oct. 31)

College and Career Discovery - "College GO! Week" 
- is an annual, statewide event to promote enrollment in two and four year colleges across Indiana (Sept. 20 - 24)
 
On-campus Experiences"Walk into my Future"
Manchester University invites all K-3rd grades to visit the college campus. The students get to experience and discover what college is like through hands-on activities and in the eyes of a college student. This event is held on Sept. 24, 2021 and is ran by Manchester University volunteers and staff.
