Director of Youth Development

JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Youth Development intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing high-quality, member-focused child care programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age: 21
- Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 1–2 years of related leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage staff and budgets
- Experience working with grants and compliance preferred
- YMCA Team Leader Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all youth development programs, including child care, child watch, teen and family engagement, hunger relief, and enrichment programs
- Develop and expand programs aligned with community needs and the YMCA’s strategic goals
- Build strong relationships with schools, community organizations, and families
- Collaborate with membership and program departments to drive engagement and retention
- Oversee departmental budgets, grant compliance, and program outcomes
- Lead staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met across all youth development offerings
- Participate in facility supervision and act as a leader in association-wide events and initiatives
- Support fundraising and philanthropy efforts, including the Annual Campaign
- Promote YMCA programs through marketing and community outreach
- Manage facility and equipment needs related to youth programming
- Respond promptly to member and community inquiries or concerns

Enrichment Leader for Before & After School Care

This position is for the Enrichment Leader for Before & After School Care.
The Enrichment Leader must have the competencies, skills and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the YMCA mission, goals and vision for serving the community. Other important responsibilities of the Tutor include the following:

Help students achieve a better understanding of specific subject material and develop the study skills necessary for academic success.

Identify students experiencing difficulties and provide encouragement and alternatives.

Document, track and maintain daily progress and academic records of assigned students. Provide feedback regarding student’s progress as well as behavior.

Work with students to develop a high level of motivation in academic areas and positive attitudes toward learning and studying.

Adhere to all processes, procedures, rules and regulations of the YMCA, and School District. Additional duties may be added.

Qualified adult, 18 years or older, who meets academic standards for tutoring and demonstrate competence in analyzing student’s academic needs and effectively provide solutions and support in assisting the student to reach their academic potential.
