✔ Important Membership Requirements

• Joiner’s Fee required for:
  • All new members
  • Members returning after a 60-day lapse
• Liability Waiver must be completed for each household member
• Members must follow YMCA policies and guidelines outlined in the New Member Handbook
• Members must stop at the Member Services Desk before entering to receive ID tag(s)

✔ How to Join

• Visit the Wabash County YMCA Member Services Desk. Staff will:
  • Complete your membership registration
  • Provide a facility tour
  • Answer any questions

Membership Cancellation

To cancel your membership, fill out the form at the Member Services Desk prior to the 15th of the month to cancel the next draft. Membership will be valid until the end of the month of cancellation.

Active Older Adults (AOA) at the YMCA experience a strong sense of belonging and create a network of friends who provide support for sustained health and well-being. AOA members build relationships and increase self-confidence while celebrating the successes of each member of their community. Through group exercise classes and aquatic programs that concentrate on mobility and flexibility, the YMCA is bringing AOA members together for camaraderie, fellowship, and fun. 

The Wabash County YMCA honors many insurance-based membership plans, many are completely free of charge. As a SilverSneakers®, Silver&Fit®, or Renew Active™ member, you will have full access to the Wabash County YMCA including the Aquatic Center, Wellness Center, Gymnasiums, group exercise classes, and programs. 

SilverSneakers®

SilverSneakers® is a fun, energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity. To check your SilverSneakers® eligibility click here or call 1-888-423-4632 Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM—8:00 PM EST.

Silver&Fit®

The Silver&Fit® exercise and healthy-aging program is provided by American Specialty Health. Silver and Fit is a fitness program designed specifically for older adults. You may access Silver&Fit® as a Medicare beneficiary through many insurance companies' Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans. To check your Silver&Fit® eligibility click here or call 1-877-427-4788 Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM—6:00 PM Pacific Time.

Renew Active™

Renew Active™, the gold standard in Medicare fitness programs for body and mind, includes a free facility membership. To check your Renew Active™ eligibility call 1-855-604-1588 (TTY 711) toll-free, 8 am–8 pm, 7 days a week.

If your insurance plan is not listed above, contact your insurance representative or call the toll-free number on the back of your insurance card and ask them if a YMCA membership is included in your plan.

Nationwide Membership is available at the Wabash County YMCA for qualifying membership types. 

Nationwide Membership allows you to visit any participating YMCA across the United States and Puerto Rico at no additional cost, through your home YMCA (the location where you joined and pay your membership dues).

It’s all part of the YMCA’s commitment to strengthening communities and keeping you connected wherever you go.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES

• Valid for active, full-facility YMCA members only
• Must use your home YMCA at least 50% of the time
• Program-only and special memberships are not eligible

TRAVEL & EXTENDED STAYS

• Traveling for more than 28 days or not using your home Y 50% of the time?
→ Place your membership on hold, cancel, or transfer to a local YMCA
• Plan ahead - hold requests may take several weeks

COLLEGE STUDENTS

• Must join the YMCA where you use the facility 50% or more
• Nationwide Membership is based on individual usage, not family
• Many Ys offer young adult rates or financial assistance

WHEN VISITING OTHER YMCAS

• Bring a valid photo ID
• Be prepared to sign a waiver
